Eligibility

The Gordon Elmyra Hobbs Scholarship is designed to encourage graduating seniors or past graduates of Crandon High School to pursue post-secondary education in accounting or business. Applicant must plan to attend an accredited technical college, university, or graduate business program. All scholarships require a minimum G.P.A. of 2.5 (or 2.0 college G.P.A.) and 1.5 high school course credits in business education.  The technical degree scholarship requires applicant to have completed 3 high school course credits in math, and the bachelor’s degree scholarship requires 4 math credits. Talk to your counselor early to learn what courses may qualify as business education.

Award Criteria

Scholarship awarded based on math credits, G.P.A., and evaluation of one-page essay.

Amount

  • $4,000 over two years – students pursuing an associate degree at a 2-year accredited college or university.
  • $8,000 over two years – students pursuing a bachelor’s degree at a 4-year accredited college or university.

Students can reapply.
